Born in Evanston, raised in Maywood, Alma grew up with a passion for singing that has carried her from karaoke to rock bands, and ultimately to her own piano bar shows.

Alma called Gentry On Halsted home for 3 years, then moved on to Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret.  Here she both hosts a long running karaoke show late Friday nights (ranked #1 by Citysearch as the "Best Chicago Karaoke" in 2009), and performs in and produces her own modern cabaret shows.  Highlights include "Girls Like Us" (a musical adaptation of the book of that title), & her Stevie Wonder tribute show "Everything Is Alright" which will be returning for it's 3rd run in December.  Alma's newest project, based on the amazing artist Phoebe Snow, debuts in November 2011.

Alma has also appeared in CCP productions at both the Park West and Drury Lane, as a guest vocalist for the 2011 Chicago Humanities Festival, and can frequently be caught singing in guest spots and open mic shows throughout the city.
